National Conference on Open Source Software: NCOSS-09
May 25-26, 2009, Navi Mumbai, India
Instructions for Paper Presentation
-
The papers have been categorized into various sessions; each session consisting of 3-4 papers. The presentations run in two parallel tracks. Detailed schedule for the conference is available on the conference site. Please check in advance the time and location of the session in which your paper is to be presented.
-
Please be in the hall, where your presentation is to take place, atleast ten minutes before the session start time.
-
Meet the session chair and introduce yourself during the break before your session.
-
Make sure you load your presentation in the PC provided in the conference hall, during the break before your session.
-
The conference hall is equipped with a modern A/V system. Presenters will use a clip-on microphone. A computer with OpenOffice and PDF reader will be available to help you present. It is also possible for you to give the presentation with your own PC/laptop. A standard overhead projector with normal VGA inputs will be available. If you have any other special requirements for your presentation, please contact us at the earliest and we will see if it is feasible.
-
Time is very critical in a conference presentation. In NCOSS-09 every presentation is given 30 minutes overall. Thus, you will have 20 to 25 minutes for your presentation and 5 minutes for questions/ answers. We suggest that you restrict your presentation to 20 minutes.
-
Your audience will not be able to absorb many new ideas during a short presentation. Try to concentrate on a few key points in your presentation, and express them in a way that is simple and easy to understand. Those who get interested in your work, can read the details in your paper or talk to you later during the day.
-
For a 20minute presentation, we recommend not more than 15 slides. Your presentation must be in English.
We request your cooperation in keeping the time schedule and making the process seamless for you, the audience and the organisers.
Thank you
